Yann Arthus-Bertrand

The legacy we leave to our children
Life as a photographer and director

Mons is hosting two exhibitions dedicated to the internationally renowned photographer, director, and environmentalist, Yann Arthus-Bertrand. An obsessive photographer, he has been working and reworking the same themes for many years to deepen the subjects and raise awareness of environmental issues to as many people as possible.

In St. Georges Hall, discover a little-known selection of his various works, from the 1980s to today. From his first pictures of lions in Kenya to portraits of strangers initiated from an order from L'Express newspaper, passing through studios erected during agricultural fairs in France, Argentina or even Great Britain to defend the agricultural world, or the beginning of the project "Earth from Above" which offers a state of the planet in the year 2000, do not miss this unique journey.

On the site of the Belfry, the high point of our city and world heritage and Humanity, discover an open-air exhibition with nearly 100 photos, taken from the photographer's most emblematic project: "Earth from Above" .

These two exhibitions offer playback of the great transformations of the world and its inhabitants: human beings, animals, plants and minerals, and what we are going to pass on to the younger ones.

At the same time, films will also be screened. In fact, since 2009, Yann Arthus-Bertrand has directed several feature films: Home (on the state of the planet), Human (interviews carried out in 45 countries), and Woman (3,000 interviews of women in 40 countries).
