During the morning

  • 9.30 am: Religious ceremony at the Collegiate Church
 
  • 11 am: Remembrance ceremony at the municipal cemetery of Mons
Like every year, Mons is organising a ceremony at the municipal cemetery of Mons at 10.30am  in honour of all men who have fallen during various world conflicts.

  • 11 am: Parade of the Blackwatch
  • 11.45 am : Remembrance Ceremony at the Place du Parc
  • 12.15 am: Remembrance Ceremony at the porch of the Town Hall
  • 3.25 pm: Liberation parade and remembrance ceremony at the Grand-Place in Mons
As in November 1918, a large parade with all Canadian regiments succeeding those who participated in “The Pursuit to Mons” will take place to remember their passage through the Grand Place. This parade, embellished with period materials, is composed of regiments past and present from Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, etc. A commemorative
ceremony will follow the parade with Canada and Belgium participating. Archival films, music, witness readings, not to mention some surprises, will enhance the programme.

  • 5.15pm: End of the Remembrance Ceremony 
  • 8pm & 9.30pm: Performance around George Price

Combining mapping, artists and projections on the Grand-Place. It involves an entire show played out on the facade of the City Hall of Mons (15th century) using projection-mapping technology. It will trace the history of Canadian expeditionary troops in Europe, up to the liberation of Mons, narrated through the lens of the sacrificed life of the soldier George Price.
