Guided tour: Discover the religious heritage of Mons

The City of Mons itself boasts four parish churches: Saint Nicolas, Notre Dame de Messines, Sainte Elisabeth and Sainte Waudru (in order of creation of the parish). These four churches can be discovered during a 2-hour walk, with the help of an official guide from the Tourism Office. Each church can also be visited on its own. In the church of Saint Nicolas, you’ll be able to admire an exceptional baroque ensemble; in Notre Dame de Messines church, you’ll discover a miraculous painting from the 17th century; in the Sainte Elisabeth church, you can immerse yourself in the work of Mons’ architect Claude-Joseph de Bettignies, and in the church of Sainte Waudru, let yourself be guided through the work ordered by the canonesses or relating to the Doudou...
