  • Ballet of the national Opera Theatre of Ukraine. A ballet of exceptional beauty! When you think of ballet, you think of "Swan Lake". The premiere of the creation by the famous trio of Petipa, Ivanov, and Tchaikovsky took place in 1895, performed by the Mariinski Ballet of St. Petersburg. Petitpa "Grand Master of the Pointes technique", particularly focused on the pointes dancing by the ballerinas, culminating in the 32 fouettés of the Black Swan. This dizzying technique, combined with the dual role of Odette/Odile, makes this ballet a true fire ordeal for any ballerina. This romantic love story narrates the absolute love between Prince Siegfried and Princess Odette. But the sorcerer, Von Rothbart, casts a spell on the pure and innocent princess, who as soon as night falls, henceforth turns into a swan. And only an unconditional love can break the spell. Von Rothbart tried in vain to come between the lovers, his daughter Odile being the mirror image of Odette... The wonderful music by Tchaikovsky, the virtuosity of the dancers, the magnificent corps de ballet of the national Opera of Ukraine and the sumptuous stage production make this touching story a real fairy tale for all ages. The wonderful Alyona Shevtsova dances the starring role of Odette/Odile, whose talent and charisma built her outstanding international career. Location: Théâtre Royal de Mons
