La Table des Matières is a restaurant where the food is 100% Italian. This peaceful place where you can enjoy authentic Italian food is just a short walk from Mons’ Grand-Place. With fresh ingredients and an à la carte menu, at La Table des Matières you can enjoy all the warmth of Italian cuisine. After his trip to the market, chef Renato Carati will create a delicious meal for you using vegetables, fish and pasta. His secret is that he cooks with his heart, leaving plenty of room for creativity and improvisation. It isn’t unusual for him to come and talk to you about the ingredients he has managed to pick up and what he’d like to cook for you. Mons 2015 menus Renato Carati has already come up with a number of menus for Mons 2015, including “La Table de 8”. The principle is simple yet delightful: every night, you can enjoy a gourmet meal for 8 people, with antipasti and pasta. A great way to spend some quality time with friends, colleagues or relatives… For birthdays you’ll be given a cake, or some Prosecco to go with it. During this special year, the Ristorante will also be accepting “after theatre” groups. You can book a table for 6 to 8 people and enjoy a meal a bit later than usual with the special “Table de 8”. La Table des Matières wouldn’t be what it is without the personality of its chef, Renato Carati. When he was asked to sum up his restaurant in one sentence, he told us, with a thoughtful smile, “In Italy, everything’s a drama, except in the kitchen.” Proud of his Italian roots, Renato goes to his homeland once a fortnight! For him, food is much more than just a passion, it’s a whole philosophy. His work is his way of life! And the chef goes on: “Italians don’t work… They have fun!” La Table des Matières epitomises the spirit of Italy!.
