Since its creation in 1984 at the initiative of Mr. Elio Di Rupo, the Mons International Love Film Festival has promoted a certain idea for cinema, turning to original, audacious and engaging films from all continents.
Based on its historical theme of "Love" and the feeling of love, the Festival has gradually evolved into a new identity, favouring cinematographic works with singular views of the world, North-South relationships and human relations.Organised around a hundred long and short films, the majority of which are European productions and come from developing countries, the programming varies between popular films and productions combining the pleasure of a wide audience and the quality cinema. The structure of the FIFA film program consists of:
  • national previews,
  • feature film competitions,
  • associative sessions,
  • conferences,
  • favourites of famous personalities of the 7th art,
  • a panorama dedicated to Italian cinema,
  • and a focus on Belgian cinema.
The main mission of the Festival has always been to make cinema accessible to all: the general public and film-lovers, but also seniors, students, the voluntary sector, school audiences as part of visual sensitizing and educational activities and the disabled for whom adapted sessions are organised. With its regional roots in Wallonia, its European dimension and its undeniable international influence, the Mons International Love Film Festival is a dynamic meeting place for the various audiences and a program of films and diverse activities in terms of origins and themes.
